Transportation

Participants and their families must arrange their own transportation to Michigan Tech. Michigan Tech is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula along U.S. Highway 41 on the east side of Houghton. Both U.S. Highway 41 and Michigan Highway 26 will take you directly to Houghton.

To see a map of campus and calculate driving directions you can visit http://www.mtu.edu/maps/

Youth Programs Charter Bus

We provide charter bus transportation to participants throughout the state. Our busses are chaperoned and come equipped with bathrooms and movies to watch during the ride. This can be a great way for participants to meet each other before arriving on campus.

Participants are picked up on Saturday evenings and travel through the night to get to campus.

The bus makes stops in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Metro Detroit, Bay City, and Gaylord (not all stops are available each week). If you choose to take the charter bus, you will receive pick-up and drop-off locations and times from our office prior to the start of the program. Reservations for seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority will be given to round-trip riders.
