Dear Michigan Tech Youth Programs Alumni and
Friends,
Thanks to all of you for participating in,
staffing, and supporting Youth Programs for
the last 37 years. In that time, our
programs have grown in many ways. We now
host over 1,000 participants on average
every summer to explore opportunities in
over 70 different career and adventure
explorations. Not only do our students learn
about the field they have chosen in a
discovery-based fashion, they also learn:
-
They can successfully navigate a college
campus and its services.
-
They can work successfully with students
from around the country and world.
-
They are able to function independently
far from home by setting up a strong
network of friends and supporters on
their own.
-
They learn that they belong in college
with the many talented peers that attend
our programs.
You all have helped build this
pipeline to collegiate and professional
success.

What have our parents told us about their
child's most memorable experience?
"Going there on her own from North
Carolina and experiencing the college life
of Michigan Tech along with making new
friends. Learning lots about engineering."
"Working with the professor in the lab
and going on the tour of the facilities that
made the tiles for the NASA shuttle and
other sites."
"Meeting other students whom were
different than himself and they became
buddies. There were non-stop meaningful
speakers, classroom and field trip
education, as well as recreational and
eating outings. As my son said, it was
packed with unbelievable times and there was
very good structure."
Your support of our programs helps us
continue to build inspiration and desire to
seek out knowledge. Participants leave our
programs with confidence in the academic and
social abilities and the belief that they
belong in college because they know they
will be successful there. This gift is one
that keeps on giving to others, whether it
be their peers, their spouse, their
children, or others they come in contact
with.
We invite you to bring others on our
journey. As support grows, so do the number
of young men and women we can inspire.
Thanks for making a difference in the lives
of so many.
